ABOUT FONEWORX (PTY) LTD ("FONEWORX")
FoneWorx is a wholly owned subsidiary of FoneWorx Holdings Limited which is listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange in the AltX sector. FoneWorx has been in business for 14 years and has, over this time, developed five operating divisions.
The group, for branding and marketing purposes, is structured in five distinct divisions: MediaWorx (infotainment services), BizWorx (business services), IDWorx (identity access management), DRWorx (disaster recovery and workflow continuity) and CarbonWorx (restoration of eco systems and carbon abatement).
MediaWorx provides infotainment services, incorporating: SMS, IVR, MMS, vMail, USSD and similar type applications orientated towards the Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment, advertising agencies, corporates, NGOs, government and any institution requiring interactive services.
FoneWorx is the preferred service provider to SABC by virtue of an existing contract and is also the preferred service provider to MultiChoice for services managed into Africa. FoneWorx has services offered in 36 countries over 86 distinct networks in Africa. MediaWorx manages around 800 individual campaigns per annum.
BizWorx is the service arm for providing a broad range of business applications orientated around small, medium and micro enterprises and also incorporates a facility to design services specifically for larger corporations or NGO's. BizWorx distributes its broad range of services via a dealer network which currently constitutes 80 dealers who have a physical footprint throughout South Africa. BizWorx has developed its own proprietary platform for the hosting and management of the various BizWorx applications incorporating Fax2Email, PC2Fax and Web2Fax.
BizWorx launched Fax2Email approximately 5 years ago and has developed exceptional skills in document imaging and management incorporating the conversion of hard copy to digital format and the submission of such digital image to email addresses or web pages. BizWorx currently processes approximately 280,000 unique images per day or 8 million images per month. Platforms offering Fax2Email, Web2Fax and SMS have been established in Zambia, Kenya and Nigeria.
BizWorx also provides professional services including the design of bespoke services to corporates who wish to offer a range of our business services to provide "unified messaging" applications.
IDWorx specialises in identity verification and anti-money laundering solutions ("AML"). In the South African context this oversees legislation such as the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, No. 38 of 2001 ("FICA") and the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-related Information Act, No. 70 of 2002 ("RICA"). FoneWorx used the expertise it gathered in the BizWorx Fax2Email and PC2Fax services, and around the architecture of the latter two services developed the verification application. IDWorx has consulted extensively with leading experts including Professor Louis de Koker from the University of Johannesburg who is also a director of the Centre for the Study of Economic Crime ("CENSEC"). In addition, research has been verified with a number of leading attorneys who specialise in the digital environment and also electronic communications legislation. The verification application was also tested with leading advocates such as Guy Hoffman (Senior Counsel) who provided valuable input in the various elements of our IDWorx application. IDWorx continuously researches legislation that is applicable to identity verification applications and legislation pertaining to the protection of personal information such as the Consumer Protection Act and the Protection of Personal Information Bill. The IDWorx application continuously strives to provide best of breed verification applications that can be adapted to various institutions and their individual requirements. The IDWorx identification application is also being deployed in CIPRO and the security and hospitality industry.
DRWorx provides disaster recovery and back-up facilities, incorporating workflow continuity specifically aimed at the stockbroking fraternity and small to medium businesses. DRWorx is a niche hosting and workflow provider, providing complete state-of-the-art hosting environments incorporating a range of telecommunication facilities, back-up and hosting platforms.
The DR facility and workflow continuity environment enables companies who subscribe to this facility to set up their own computer infrastructure so that in the event of an emergency being declared at their own site, they are able to move to the DRWorx environment and continue to operate as per normal.
In addition, the facility provides a range of back-up facilities to small, medium and micro enterprises.
